Healthy light and longevity

Too little light in the day and too much light at night disrupts human circadian rhythms and is related to poor health outcomes that precede premature mortality. We examined light exposure patterns in >88,000 people and examined how light patterns relate to longevity. Getting less light in the day and more light at night predicted earlier mortality, especially cardiometabolic mortality. Click the image for the link to the open access paper in PNAS.
